Almost 8,000 visitors from Germany and abroad used this year's SENSOR+TEST show to gain comprehensive information on the state of the art in sensor, measuring, and testing technology. The number of exhibitors (543) and the floor area (approx. 19,000 m²) corresponds almost exactly with the figures from the previous year. Conflicting dates with other trade fairs led to a slight drop in the total number of visitors, but the proportion of foreign visitors increased to just about 25%.
On the last day of the fair, AMA Service's managing director, Holger Bödeker commented: "Despite a challenging situation like never before, the SENSOR+TEST held its own with generally stable figures. Our major concern though is the success and benefit for our exhibitors - and these were evidently great."
The parallel scientific AMA Conferences, SENSOR, OPTO, and IRS², also attracted large numbers of participants. The visitors showed a great interested in the talks given by exhibitors in the open forums - especially in this year's focal topic Renewable Energy. For the first time, a special stand focused on the subject of sensors and systems for image processing.
The next SENSOR+TEST will be held from 3 to 5 June 2014 again at the Exhibition Center in Nuremberg - together with the 17th ITG/GMA Syposium "Sensors and Measuring Systems." The supporting AMA Association for Sensor Technology and the Exhibitor Committee of the fair have decided on next year's focal topic: "Safety and Security."
