Artila announces Aport-213, the Single Port Serial-to-Wifi gateway available on the market. It is the ideal choice that provides connectivity for serial devices, such as meters and sensors to 802.11 wireless local area networks (WLANS). Eliminating the need for the development of a wireless LAN driver and security supplicant, it is ideal for minimizing upfront engineering investment and reducing time to market.
Wireless cloud connectivity
There is no need to write special drivers for specific operating systems since Aport-213 can be configured as a transparent bridge. This allows a Serial device to communicate wirelessly with no modifications required to your existing software. The gateway supports cloud connectivity with different protocol standards including WPA, WPA2, WEP plus 802.1x authentication, including 802.1x Extensible Authentication protocol (EAP) with all the major EAP types. It minimizes power consumption while transmitting and receiving data (approximately 180mA) while its power management features reduce power usage during periods of inactivity to make it especially suitable for remote monitoring environments such as agriculture, smart energy, security systems, factory automation, and more.
