Compact and flexible, the i700 servo inverter from Lenze is designed for multi-axis applications. Available as single- and double-axis models, it covers 0.37 up to 15kW power range along with appropriate power supply modules. The double axis model ensures that the volume of the drives is a minimum, while dynamic motor control permits a wide range of applications. Due to intuitive software tools and a central engineering interface, the inverter can easily be integrated into automation architectures through EtherCAT. Easy wiring is achieved using plug connectors. The power supply modules normally do not require any filtering or DC fusing and are factory-fitted with a braking chopper. Intermediate electrical connections between the drives are made, without a cable, by using an innovative rail system, and are easily installed by setting connector arms. Automatic downloading of parameters and firmware, along with auto-tuning functions, ensure fast commissioning and further simplify the engineering. Available with a variety of cooling technologies including cold-plate, push-through, and panel-mounted units, the inverter supports the full spectrum of motor technologies, from standard 3–phase up to synchronous servomotors. With 250 µs cycle times for positional control, a signal resolution of 32bits and an overload capacity >200%, it as well suited to highly dynamic, precise, multi-axis applications. The integrated safety functionality also simplifies the machine design. “Safe Torque Off” (STO) is provided as standard, while in the future, in order to implement extended safety networks, a variant will be available offering, for example, SS1, SS2, SOS, SLS, SDI or SLI, and which achieves the highest safety level (SIL 3, PL e) over EtherCAT (FSoE).
