Metso's automated shut-off burner valves from the Jamesbury series 7000/9000, are designed to meet EN161 and EN264, as approved by TÜV, and to protect against fire and explosive hazards during the operation of gas- and oil-burning equipment. When the electrical signal is interrupted or when there is a loss of air pressure, these burner valves close within 1 second to isolate the gas or oil flow. This action may be initiated either by safety trip or normal shutdown sequencing. The units consist of either: a Jamesbury valve with a Metso actuator plus a solenoid pilot valve; or the Neles ValvGuard safety-valve controller, Metso’s TÜV SIL3-approved partial-stroke device.
A wide range of limit switches is available. The units are also suitable for use in safety loops with SIL compliance according to ISO61508. The flexible-lip Xtreme seat design makes these valves bubble tight and gives them an outstanding lifetime, even under high thermal cycle situations. Shaft sealing meets the fugitive emission standards of ISO15848 Class BH and TA-Luft VDI 2440. The valves are Fire-Safe according to ISO10497 and API607 5th Edition.
