This driver version for USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and GigE industrial cameras from IDS is WHQL certified also for Windows 10. It supports the upcoming USB 3 uEye CP camera series that is equipped with fast Python sensors from ON Semiconductor. The CMOS sensors are designed to provide high frame rates. They convince of their unique ability to partially read out applied AOIs (Areas Of Interest) both horizontally and vertically. As a result, they reach a top speed of more than 1,000 fps. Thereby, the sensors are optimal for use in slow motion or high speed applications.
By simply adjusting the pixel clock and activating the camera memory in the uEye Cockpit, the sensor speed can be increased thanks to driver version 4.80 - depending on the camera model. Users of high-frequency applications such as eye tracking or ophthalmology benefit from that fact. The USB 3.0 camera UI-3140CP with Python 1300 sensor reaches a maximum speed of more than 220 fps instead of 169 fps at full resolution (1280 x 1024, 1.3 MP).
Version 4.80 supports the so-called "Vertical AOI Merge Mode", specially developed by IDS, when using models of the USB 3 uEye CP. This enables the user to flash per line, if desired, and therefore to apply different light sources and further applications, too. The latest release of the IDS Software Suite is WHQL certified not only for Windows 7 und 8, but also for Windows 10. Of course, it still supports Linux and Linux Embedded. The whole SDK is available in 16 different languages.
