The FAG E1 spherical roller bearing from Schaeffler is the classic bearing variant for the rotor main shaft in wind turbines. This rolling bearing design in X-life quality combines a high load carrying capacity and an angular adjustment facility. Schaeffler Group Industrial also now offers bearings with a steel cage instead of the conventional solid brass cage for the typical sizes used in medium-size wind turbines with outputs from 1.4 to 2.1 megawatts. These are bearings with a bore of 600 mm (outside diameter 870 mm) and 630 mm (outside diameter 920 mm).
