The principle of bats, using ultrasonic detection, has been implemented in the newly developed sensor MHUS. The MHUS is offered in two versions for measuring area captures from 100 up to 600mm and 300 up to 2,500mm. The electrical connection is made at a three-wire circuit, supply 15 up to 45VDC at 4 up to 20mA output with HART protocol, different transmitter configurations and optionally system integrations like PROFIBUS, Modbus, EtherCAT and CANopen. Programming takes place via buttons and/or software. In addition to the level measurement of bulk materials and liquids in silos and tanks the sensor is applicable for a wide range of different tasks. It can be used for distance measurements of moving machine parts, for the capturing and counting of moving objects and for the presence and position control of objects. Therefore, the application is possible in the whole area of the industry, in the cooperative storing, building material industry and agriculture.
