At the SPS show, Siemens will showcase a new developed visualization system based on native Web technologies. This overall system for industrial operator control and monitoring includes the Simatic WinCC Unified visualization software and the new generation of HMI panels, Simatic HMI Unified Comfort Panels. It supplies the user with a solution for HMI and SCADA applications, and also for Industrial Edge, Cloud and Augmented Reality applications in the future. The runtime of the Simatic WinCC Unified in the TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) Portal relies on native Web technologies such as SVG, HTML5 and JavaScript. Its high scalability enables end-to-end solutions, from machine-level applications all the way to the SCADA system.
Implementation of industry-specific requirements through open programming interfaces and option packages
Open API interfaces such as TIA Portal Openness were implemented to enable automated engineering and significantly simplify data exchange during operation. An ODK (Open Develoment Kit) and an OpenPipe interface are available. WinCC Unified Runtime can be accessed through all Internet browsers without the installation of separate plug-ins. Furthermore, components created once can be re-used on all platforms, whether on the operator panel, on the PC or as apps in the Cloud and Edge environments.
